2011’s Top Wedding Dress Trends

Here, in no particular order, are my top ten wedding dress trends for brides-to-be this year.

Take a Bow…

Well, really I mean “bow” as in tie a bow 🙂 Bows have come back and are a very sought after detail in fashion. This holds true for wedding dresses as well. Bows can be added to both camoflauge or bring attention to a certain area…they can virtually be placed anywhere

For the bride looking for texture, something extra, or a dainty princess look, ruffles are still a great way to go. As a trend that is either loved or hated by brides, ruffles are still a fashion trend.

What’s Old is New Again…

Vintage style weddings are big for 2011, which calls for a vintage wedding dress (particularly 1950s inspired gowns). It takes a certain confidence and elegance to pull it off but with the right style, it is sure to be a hit!

Lace It Up…

Keep it dainty with lace details on your dress. Its the ultimate feminine fabric.

Get Shorty…

Take your hemline up for a dress that’s dance ready. More and more brides are opting for shorter (and even mini) wedding dresses.

See It In 3D…

For added texture, try adding a “standout” element to your dress.

Take Me Higher…

Higher necklines are taking over for 2011. For a more classic look, opt for a jewel or halter neckline and beautiful earrings. This also allows a bride to show skin in other areas without looking….bare.

See Right Through Me…

Sheer elements are perfect for showing off but not really. This will be a big trend in the cooler months of the year.

Under Lock & KEY

The keyhole is always a great dress detail but in 2011, expect to see it on the back. Usually a chest element, keyholes will also be added to the shoulder of many dresses.

Add A Little Something…

Not a dress but I added this as a bonus! Bridal accessories are hot this year. Find one that compliments (not overpowers) your gown.

All Love…All the Time
